Ashley Ortiz is the passionate force behind Beyond Amo.

Born and raised in the South Bronx, Ashley’s connection to technology began in her elementary school’s computer lab, where typing projects and writing for the school newspaper sparked her imagination. When her parents gifted her a computer, it opened up a world of discovery that would shape her future.

She soon became the “computer guru” of her household, teaching herself Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and using the internet to explore new interests. These early experiences revealed how technology could be a powerful tool for expression and problem-solving.

Ashley carried that passion into her teaching career. In the classroom, she integrated technology into daily lessons by teaching typing, guiding students in creating digital presentations, and using Google Classroom to connect learners. She made technology approachable and purposeful, ensuring her students were prepared for the digital age.

Her journey eventually led her to establish Beyond Amo, with a mission to close the digital divide and inspire limitless learning. Today, she draws on her background as both an educator and technologist to design hands-on programs that support students, families, and educators in exploring boldly and building real-world digital fluency.

Ashley is a proud graduate of CUNY Bronx Community College, Hunter College, and NYC public schools. Her story, rooted in curiosity, resilience, and community, serves as the foundation of Beyond Amo – a space where every learner can dream big, create boldly, and grow without limits.
